Young people are a very important part of the West Church family.
Those who are able to attend on a Sunday morning at 11am have the opportunity to go to Junior Church, which covers from age 3 to the end of primary school. We spend the first 15-20 minutes of the service all together before the children head off for their own activities.
The exception is the first Sunday of each month when the whole service is all-age. During the summer months and school holidays we also worship together.
On the last Sunday of the month we are experimenting with a 'Teen Breakfast' at 10am which is an opportunity for our teengages to meet, play a game or two, and chat about God and life over a bowl of cereal or a buttery.
Our Sunday morning crèche for under threes is currently unsupervised as we've found our parents prefer to either keep their wee ones in church throughout the service (they are always wlcome and there are toys to play with) or take them to the crèche themselves, however, we have volunteers on hand should they be required,
Every third Sunday we help run the Inverurie Messy Church at St Mary's hall from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. This is an all-age family worship centered around crafts, activities, and a shared meal.
Twice a year (last Sundays in April and October) we have a special family communion in the afternoon at 2:30pm. This is a very relaxed interactive style service in which the wee ones learn about and participate in serving communion. Depite this, children are also welcome at the formal 11am service.
We also have a very popular Mainly Music group which meets on a Tuesday morning in the Acorn Centre and a new West Church Young Families Group which meets on a Thursday morning in the church hall.
We'd love to see you at any or all of the above!
