A Vibrant community facililty located in the heart of Inverurie.
The Acorn Centre is a social enterprise wholly owned by Inverurie West Parish Church to provide hospitality and events services to the wider community. It is managed by members of the congregation and has a small core of paid staff supporting a volunteer team.
In the year 2000 the Church of Scotland launched the "Church Without Walls" initiative to challenge congregations to engage more with local and wider community. The Acorn Centre was the response of Inverurie West Parish Church. By making better use of the building space, the ground floor was opened up to accomodate the hospitality area, UBUNTU fairtrade shop, gallery space and meeting rooms.
With a mission to provide true hospitality, our volunteer team, supported by professional caterers, has established a superb reputation for quality food, great service and attention to detail that keeps customers coming back time and again.
All proceeds from the centre are returned to the church to support projects locally and internationally. Our Small Grants Scheme has donated over £28,000 to local clubs, support groups and youth organisations in the Garioch Area.
